Marius Morel, retro revisited
For more than 130 years, the Morel company has embodied the know-how of the French eyewear industry, carefully following the traditions and respecting the values of Jules Morel, its founder.
Over the generations, this know-how, the company’s foundation stone, has continued to grow.
The artisan workshop set up in 1880 is now an innovative company famous for its quality and design.
While remaining faithful to our heritage and preserving our independence, we have adapted to changes in the market, as demonstrated by the strong development of our brands around the world over a number of decades.
With each new collection, our know-how, resulting from more than 130 years in the industry, is combined with outstanding creativity which is now our major asset in an increasingly competitive global optical market.
Our “design center” houses specialist designers for each brand and is buzzing with ideas that ensure maximum product differentiation.
The strategic importance of design at MOREL is clearly demonstrated through the complementary brands within our product offer, and the quality and inventiveness of our collections.
Titanium, stainless steel, handcrafted acetate, engraved grooves and laser engraving, traditional techniques rub shoulders with new technologies to create authentic and elegant frames
For those in the know, MARIUS MOREL 1880 frames feature discreet recognisable signs: a silver coloured “1880” metal insert is subtly sunk into the outside of the left end tip.
On each side, the inside of the end tip is embellished with five decorative stripes, the second of which is lacquered deep red.
Authentic high-quality frames produced in the purest eyewear tradition, just as in 1880, but with the comfort and technologies of today.
